Three years ago, the tradition of celebrating Mata Kheerbhawani puja iwas started in the UK by the Kashmiri Pandits Cultural Society. The first was organised at Vishwa Hindu Kendra, Southall and the second one, last year was organised at Romford. This year, the Kheerbhawani puja and mela was at the International Sidhashram Centre in Harrow and Bob was delighted to be invited as Guest of Honour.
Bob was invited by William Hill to place a free bet on the Euros at a local shop and to discuss the work of the local team to promote responsible gambling. Unfortunately, Bob's bet wasn't successful with England knocked out of the contest by Iceland.
William Hill employs around 13,000 people across the UK and recently launched its 'Community Commitment' to support staff to volunteer their time for good causes in their home areas.

This year marked 10 Years of The Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust and Bob was delighted to attend their Gala Dinner in celebration of the milestone. Bob has worked closely with Sir Brian Burridge in securing a £1 million fund with which to upgrade and improve Bentley Priory Museum and to ensure that its educational value is available to as many school age visitors as possible, so he was delighted to attend and to witness the amazing Spitfire TR9s display that was put on for guests.
India’s contribution in World War 1 was the focus of a unique conference held at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
The inaugural ‘Meeting of the Minds’ Symposium brought together experts from across all sectors who share a common passion for building a shared understanding of the contribution of Indian soldiers in World War 1. The two day symposium concluded with a reception at the Houses of Parliament, which Bob was pleased to host.
Bob joined members of the Tamil Community outside the MoD for Mullivaikal Remembrance Day and spoke in commemoration of all those who died during the armed conflict between the Sri Lankan Government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in May 2009. Mullivaikal was the name of a hospital which was destroyed with great loss of life during the genocide.
Bob met the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Navtej Sarna, at India House recently. They discussed his recently concluded visits to India as well as discussed ways in which UK-India relationship and interaction could be strengthened further. Mr. Sarna thanked Bob for being a strong voice of Indian diaspora in the Parliament.
